Since the launch of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master the talented storyteller has kept fans guessing with deep backstory, a diverse cast of heroes, and a gripping narrative featuring angels, demons, and sinister influences growing in power within Dol-Makjar.
Note: Revealing details for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Introduced
Episode 3 ended with a dramatic pause and introduced the premier party of characters who will branch out from the central cast to begin their independent quest, separate from the remaining groups.
This warrior group includes the determined fighter (portrayed by Travis), the nimble rogue (Laura), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander (the player), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
The Reason for Division
With an extensive roster, it was clear from the start that maintaining everyone at one table would be unworkable.
That’s why, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, connecting the personal journeys before branching into three separate parties: Soldiers, Planners, and Explorers.
What Defines the Combat Party
As described by the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who prefer a classically intense fight-heavy story mode where non-violent answers are few and far between.
At first glance, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might look mismatched, but the events of episode 3 demonstrate why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
First, the group understands precisely where to go next after a brutal opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose death initiated the narrative’s action—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his own means, entering the secret base, attacking the character, and taking all the enchanted items to dispose of.
The antagonist then cleared his obligations and fled to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each adventurer has a personal reason to exit the metropolitan area:
- The agile hero, as the close ally and closest confidant, seeks vengeance.
- The adventurer has experience in the region and advises that it is a nasty location.
- The strong character and The healer, having defied his house’s orders to kill Teor and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
- Yet, their position as prominent individuals in the powerful family could assist the team access areas they normally couldn’t.
- Additionally, Teor pledged a unbreakable promise to The savior for his rescue and will now follow him everywhere.
Fugitives
Finally, all of them are hunted by the rulers that rule the setting for a multiple motives, making remaining behind dangerous:
- The rogue and The character are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and The cleric turned against the influential house and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by the family.
This leaves them little choice but to head to the remote area in pursuit of the traitor.
What’s Next?
According to the recent installment’s post-show segment, we discover that the Soldiers table will not appear the following episode, leaving the other eight participants to assemble the Questers and Schemers parties.
Fans can expect learning which players will be assigned to which table in the story’s last Overture episode, released on next week.
